ANAHEIM, Ca (June 20, 2018)  - Over Father’s Day weekend, June 16th – 17th, Jam On It partnered with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) and the Junior Volleyball Association to host the largest boys-only volleyball tornament in the nation, The Molten West Coast Classic.

The tournament was located in Anaheim, California and took place over the span of 2 days in the Anaheim Convention Center. More than 10,000 people made their way in & out of the Convention Center to compete and watch their loved ones take home championship trophies and medals (4000 athletes, 6,000 spectators). They were also 40+ collegiate coaches in attendance.

The Molten West Coast Classic was a true collaboration between AAU, Jam On It & the JVA. In fact, the idea for the event was found at a leadership in Florida when executives from all three organizations were able to sit down and share their visions for the future. Thank you to AAU president, Roger Goudy, AAU VP & Jam On It CEO Matt Williams, AAU directors Joe Jablonski & Stan Quash, and JVA executive director Jenny Hann for turning your vision into a reality.

How it all happened: Several boys’ volleyball teams contacted Joe Jablonski and Jenny Hann about hosting a large scale volleyball event in Southern California. Once the Anaheim Convention became available due to another volleyball event leaving, everyone saw the opportunity to make somethinghappen. It took a total of 12 truckloads and 200+ event staff to move 60 volleyball floors and equipment from the Jam On It storage facility to Anaheim.

The AAU was responsible for accommodating all officials/staff, providing insurance and a plethora of additional resources for the event.

The Junior Volleyball Association was responsible for the recruitment of 375+ volleyball club teams, which exceeded the initial expected number of 200 teams. JVA was also responsible with organizing/managing the event and coordinating housing for all of the club teams that traveled to Anaheim.

"We want to thank Jam On It and AAU for allowing JVA to work with them on the AAU Boys West Coast Championships. We thoroughly enjoyed the event, meeting new club directors and coaches. We never could have pulled off an event of this magnitude in only seven months without the hard work of all three groups" – Jenny Hann, JVA Executive Director

Special thanks to our sponsor, Molten, for providing volleyballs for every match and to all the athletes that competed over the weekend!
