More than 1,600 athletes traveled to ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex for the 2023 AAU Volleyball Classic

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 21, 2023) – The excitement can still be heard through the halls of ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex as multiple teams are heading home with AAU gold. For the 21st year, the AAU Volleyball Classic brought together some of the best teams to compete in Orlando, Florida.
More than 1,600 competitors from 168 teams took to the courts on March 18-19 for the 2023 AAU Volleyball Classic. Teams came from all over to compete for AAU championship gold. Teams traveled from all over Florida, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Mexico, Ontario, and Quebec, Canada. With 21 courts, the games were nonstop, and the action was breathtaking.
Teams were split into nine (9) divisions, starting at 10 years old, up to 18 years old. With a gold division in each age group, nine teams stood out by the end of the weekend. By winning at the 2023 AAU Volleyball Classic, the teams were awarded AAU championships, and earned their team a free or discounted entry to the 50th AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships.
The Gold Division winners were:
CCVV 10Blue – 10u
GP 11 Rox – 11u
GP 12 Rox – 12u
Power 13 Elite – 13u
Tainas VC 14 Adidas – 14u
GP15 Elite – 15u
GP 16 Elite – 16u
Upontop 15 Elite – 17u
AAC 18-1 – 18u
GP Rox defended their titles from last year in the 12u and 11u divisions. Tainas VC 14 kept the 13u team from last year together to win in back-to-back years as well. With one of the most impressive runs over the weekend, Upontop 15 played up two age divisions and ended up on the top. The team was able to take home the title in the 17-year-old division. AAC 18-1 was able to come back to the tournament and play the role of a redeem team. After falling in the championship game in the 17-year-old division last year, the team came back hungrier this year and found the top podium spot in the 18-year-old division.
