CHICAGO, Ill. (October 23, 2023) – AAU Boys Volleyball is back in downtown Chicago and bigger than before. The Chi-Town Boys Challenge, co-hosted by AAU and JVA, will bring in 749 boys volleyball teams from around the country to compete at one of the season’s top events.
In its second year, the event has grown to new heights and continues to showcase some of the best boys volleyball teams in the country. This year’s Chi-Town Boys Challenge will feature 100 courts and teams from every corner of the United States.
Twenty-eight states in total will be represented, making this one of the premier events of the season. College scouts from NCAA DI – DIII will be in attendance taking in all the action. Games will take place in the South Building of McCormick Place in downtown Chicago.
The Chi-Town Boys Challenge is a three-day boys’ event co-hosted by Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Teams will be split into age-based groups: 12u, 13u, 14 Open, 14 Premier, 15 Classic, 15 Premier, 15 Open, 16 Classic, 16 Premier, 16 Open, 17 Classic, 17 Premier, 17 Open, 18 Classic, 18 Premier, and 18 Open. The 1st and 2nd place teams in each division will be awarded with a paid entry to this year’s AAU Boys’ Junior National Volleyball Championships, taking place in Orlando, Florida from June 30 until July 7, 2024. The Chi-Town Boys Challenge is the first of three (3) AAU/JVA hosted events during the year. The Brew City Battle will be hosted in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 27, 2024 and the Windy City Round-Up will take place in Chicago, Illinois on June 15, 2024.
